- Dan Pierşinaru is an artist that has made himself known throughout several artistic projects involving the seriously acute problem of today’s society (inter-culturally), geopolitical and social limitations, couples’ experience, creativity as means of education and communication. He has graduated the University of Art and Design in Cluj Napoca, Romania, studying a Photo-Video-Multimedia major and he is featured among young artists’ projects ever since 1999. He has had many personal exhibitions (UAP Gallery in Targu Jiu, Sindan Cultural Centre in Cluj Napoca, Atas Gallery in Cluj Napoca, Anaid art Gallery in Bucharest, Burghof Basel in Switzerland). He has continued his studies attending scholarships and programmes designed for young artists (L’Erban- Ecole Regional de beaux-artes in Nantes, France; Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes in Paris, France; Okuparte, Huesca, Spain) and has participated in Summer School at Stadelschule-Frankfurt am Main and also Belgrad, Serbia. He is skilled in photography, video art and digital art and he is also the author of interactive projects, based on traditional creative methods, adapted to situations such as workshops with children from suburbs in Marseille; also the curator and initiator of Extins project, dedicated to Romanian contemporary jewellery. His artistic vision ranges between photography and video art, installation, drawings and objects. Using all these tools he makes up art installations in which the identity motif is combined with the state of transition in time of a place or a human being, of accidents, movements and spontaneous feelings, of outlining the embitterment of feelings, of anonimity or the ephemeral sorrounding him.
