- Zoran Antonio Mušič (Bukovica near Nova Gorica, 1909 – Venice, 2005) was a Slovenian painter who studied at the Academy in Zagreb under Ljubo Babić and Tomislav Krizman. As a child, he moved frequently with his family and continued this nomadic lifestyle into adulthood. He lived in Spain, Ljubljana, Trieste, Venice, Paris and often visited Dalmatia, particularly Korčula. At the end of 1944, he was sent to the Dachau concentration camp. From this period, he managed to preserve less than 80 sketched drawings of life and suffering from the camp, and later transformed his memories into the graphic cycle "We Are Not the Last". He created watercolor views of Venice, Dalmatian landscapes, graphic sheets, and advertisements. He exhibited in many European cities – Zagreb, Osijek, Venice, Rome... Retrospective exhibitions were, among other things, arranged for him in Paris and Venice and today his works can be found in museums throughout Europe and the USA. The watercolor on paper "Colorful Boat" was created from rhythmically repeated surfaces in lighter, warmer colors. By playing with irregular geometric shapes, arranged like a mosaic, Mušič stylistically interpreted the ship. A typical Mediterranean motif – a ship – possibly reminds Mušič of the constant travels and address changes that marked his life.
