Artmark Associations contracts with a Swiss investment fund for a 3-year loan, in order to finance the procurement of internal stock and the organization of the first exhibitions, guaranteed with a block of Artmark shares.

CINOA receives Radu Boroianu as an observer member and validates the association mandate granted to Radu Boroianu. July – Establishment of the Artmark Auction House, under the legal name of Galeriile Artmark SRL, by two associates, collectors and art lovers, Radu Boroianu, theater director (former secretary of state in the Ministry of Culture, former ambassador of Romania to Switzerland), and Alexandru Bâldea, lawyer (associate professor of cultural marketing at the Art History Department of the Faculty of History), Radu Boroianu also becoming the first president of the House. Since its establishment, Artmark has carried out two distinct activities, one preeminently commercial, as an art auction house, and the other predominantly cultural, affirming heritage art, under the baton of director and curator Ruxandra Garofeanu, through the ArtSociety gallery, and promoting young contemporary art through the Point Contemporary gallery, coordinated by Liliana Popescu.

Radu Boroianu, pleading the cause of the Romanian art market to the representatives of CINOA (Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvres d’Art), convinces the professional body based in Brussels to grant him a mandate to associate Romanian art galleries in order to join CINOA and organize the Romanian art market according to the rigors of transparency and ethics practiced in the international market.
